SARS Career Opportunities Ops Specialist Learning Design & Development Job Description
Job Purpose
To provide expertise, advice and support to develop operational implementation plans and / or associated service delivery processes, by designing and developing curriculum and learning programmes so that the training needs identified in the skills development strategies can be met, in order to continuously enhance service delivery.
Outputs
- Conduct training needs analysis in order to ascertain and advise on the best possible resolution to identified skills gaps.
- Design, develop, organise, execute and evaluate training to address identified needs
- Determine the type of curriculum, learning methodology and learning programme that is required and liaise with subject matter experts to obtain the information required to be included in the learning programme
- Design and develop the learning programme/s so that the learning outcomes will be achieved within the selected learning methodology
- Discuss the draft learning programme/s with the subject matter experts and learning solutions architects as well as the training facilitators and make amendments as required
- Ensure that the learning programme includes effective assessment techniques and subscribes to the principles of adult learning
- Conduct Training of Trainers on newly developed content to enable trainers/facilititators to effectively deliver the training
- Attend the pilot training course to assess the learning programme and make amendments as required and evaluate the effectiveness of the learning programme and its impact on the business of SARS.
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with peers, SARS role players and third parties to achieve predefined objectives
- Execute specialist input through investigation &opportunities within the product process including risk concern
- Provide specialist input through the investigation of opportunities for operational and process product and risk optimisation
- Accumulate information to review work progress that provides input to reporting, decision making and the identification of improvement opportunities
- Apply practical and applied knowledge and act authoritatively on methods, systems and procedures to identify trends and potential risks
- Communicate situational interpretation and judgement of work outputs and queries in area of specialisation trends and potential risks
- Correctly apply policies, practices, standards, procedures and legislation in the delivery of work outputs
- Draw on own knowledge and experience to diagnose symptoms, causes and possible effects in order to solve emerging problems
- Initiate process and procedural change, implement the change and provide guidelines and support related to new requirements as a result of the change
- Plan for value-added process improvements, initiatives and services to deliver on operational strategy and objectives.
