Position Reports to: Senior Specialist: Digital Channels Support Services

WANTED:
SARS has deployed several digital channels enabling taxpayers to interact in the most optimal and cost-effective manner. To support our vision of building a SMART and Modern SARS, we are looking for highly skilled, solutions focused and self-directed individual with strong analytical skills, processes and systems knowledge with sound judgement and strong business acumen. S/he will need to have a passion for analysing and interpreting data. The incumbent should be highly proficient and fluent in analysing and manipulating large volumes of customer data to interpret customer insights and key opportunities for improvement. The candidate must be a highly motivated, be an enquirer, proactive and predisposed to a fast paced and dynamic business environment with Power BI and advanced excel skills. An understanding of SQL will be advantageous.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To provide expertise, advice and support to develop business and tactical plans and support implementation of operational plans / or associated service delivery processes, by analysing and improving the effectiveness of Digital Channels. The candidate will be responsible for analysing high volumes of data, executing the business planning process and performance reporting to effectively monitor and measure business performance across all levels of the business. The ideally candidate should derive delight in identifying new opportunities for business improvement.
Minimum Qualification & Experience Required
Bachelor’s Degree / Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) AND 5-7 years’ experience in a Data Analysis/ Business Management of which 2-3 years ideally should be in a business planning and performance reporting environment
Or
Senior Certificate (NQF 4) AND 10 years of experience in a Data Analysis/ Business Management, of which 2-3 years ideally should be in a business planning and reporting environment.
Processes
- Conduct research to investigate areas of concern in order to resolve problems and identify new solutions.
- Evaluate operational capacity planning and risk management planning and make recommendations for changes in order to achieve strategic objectives.
- Facilitate and consolidate the business and tactical plan
- facilitate the cascading of the business plan to operation
- Development of performance scorecards leveraging of benchmark data and SMART principles
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with peers, SARS role players and third parties to achieve predefined objectives.
- Execute specialist input through investigation &opportunities within the product process including risk concern.
- Provide specialist input through the investigation of opportunities for operational and process product and risk optimisation.
- Draw on own knowledge and experience to diagnose symptoms, causes and possible effects in order to solve emerging problems.
- Initiate process and procedural change, implement the change and provide guidelines and support related to new requirements as a result of the change.
- Plan for value-added process improvements, initiatives and services to deliver on operational strategy and objectives.
- Accumulate information to review work progress that provides input to reporting, decision making and the identification of improvement opportunities.
- Apply practical and applied knowledge and act authoritatively on methods, systems and procedures to identify trends and potential risks.
- Communication of situational interpretation and judgement of work outputs and queries in area of specialisation.
- Correctly apply policies, practices, standards, procedures and legislation in the delivery of work outputs.
